War on Gaza
About the Project
The interactive web app aims to provide a comprehensive view of buildings in Gaza damaged since the day the war started on October 7, 2023 until present time and insights into ongoing armed conflicts using regularly updated data from UNOSAT and ACLED. Intended for researchers, humanitarian workers, policymakers, and other concerned individuals and organizations, the web app categorizes buildings based on damage severity (destroyed, severely damaged, and moderately damaged) and offers insights into strategic developments, explosions, riots, battles, attacks on civilians, and protests.
The platform utilizes up-to-date data and ensures automated updates using ArcGIS Notebook Server, reflecting the latest developments in the conflict, handling data on building damage severity and information on various aspects of armed conflicts including strategic developments and attacks on civilians.
The primary goal is to support humanitarian efforts, conflict analysis, and historical documentation by offering timely and detailed information about the conflict’s impact. This enhances our understanding of the ongoing conflict in Gaza, allowing users to track the progression and impact of the conflict in real-time.
