About the Project

AUB Twin is a detailed, interactive 3D virtual replica of the AUB campus, built using advanced modeling and simulation technologies to capture the full spatial complexity of the campus environment. The model encompasses buildings, infrastructure, vegetation, and the surrounding coastal environment, producing a georeferenced digital representation that reflects the campus as a layered physical and spatial system. The platform translates this complexity into an immersive, navigable environment accessible to a broad range of users across disciplines and roles.

The twin's primary function is spatial. It structures the campus as a queryable environment where relationships between built form, landscape, and infrastructure can be examined, tested, and visualized simultaneously. Users can explore development scenarios, assess environmental impacts, and analyze spatial configurations before any physical intervention takes place. This capacity to simulate and visualize conditions within an accurate digital model makes the platform a substantive tool for architectural design, urban planning, and environmental assessment at the campus scale.

The platform extends its utility across academic, operational, and public functions. Students and researchers gain access to a spatially accurate environment for remote learning and collaborative investigation. Facility managers can engage with the twin to streamline campus operations and coordinate infrastructure decisions with greater precision.
