Research Clusters

Cultural Heritage

Preserving and visualizing the layered cultural, architectural, and urban histories of Lebanon and the Levant.

About the Cluster

By integrating vector and raster data across temporal and spatial dimensions, projects in this cluster provide innovative tools for historians, architects, urbanists, literary scholars, and archaeologists alike. Users can search by polygons, adjust the transparency of georeferenced maps and plans, and explore views, maps, plans, and aerial imagery for specific moments in time. Optimized for mobile use, these tools allow scholars, tourists, and residents to navigate cities, sites, and events while visualizing them as they once were, and as they were once imagined.
